@TomorrowsVlog It usually takes about four weeks to learn your first three chords, this is because your left hand is less flexible and not as strong as your right, also your poor soft finger tips take a couple of weeks to toughen. Stick at it, half an hour a day and get advice from somebody who can play if possible, it’s worth it in the end.
@TomorrowsVlog Probably the biggest problem with your guitar is that it has a high action (this means that the strings are high above the fret board making it hard to play). Ukuleles tend to not have really high actions so you don’t have that problem. Also ukuleles have nylon strings, whereas guitars have steel strings. The nylons ones are a lot less tense and are easier on the fingers.

This really helps. I bought my first uke today.. I’ve never played anything(except a little piano) and it’s really difficult but I guess it’ll get easier soon.. Thought my ukulele is not the best one.
@lucyp166 Give it a little time, Like any other stringed instrument, the strings go out of tune relatively fast when you first get it. Just play it for a little bit, tune it back up a few times, and you should be good for awhile
I have a guitar and have really tried to learn it, but I just can’t get it and it hurts my fingers like crazy! I wanted to learn something though so I’m thinking of getting a ukulele but don’t want to have the same challenge as guitar had so is ukulele easier than guitar? less pain? please reply.
I can’t keep my 1’st string in tuneee :O it keeps going flat : btw your videos are reaaally helpful. I only just bought my ukulele the other day and can’t afford lessons :p
@thedisturbed14 Guitarcenter has a couple in the 30-40$ range.. Lanikai makes fairly inexpensive ones that still sound beautiful and last a long time as long as you aren’t dropping it everytime you play.
can you use a pick/plectrum with the ukulele, i haven’t been doing so up to this point but is it easier?? please somebody reply to me!
chords are freaking hard to learn if youre used to playing the guitar!! its like a foreign language, trying to relearn =]

I guess I should tune it before I start to practise. :l
I’m not sure if this is the correct way to play a D, but I wrap my thumb around the neck of my uke and press the first 3 strings.

when you are holding more than 1 string down with a finger, how do you make sure you have enough pressure without grabbing as hard as you can?
