you should do a tutorial for over the rainbow. Jake Shimabukuro (you mustve heard of him) already did a cover but itd be cool if you went in depth with the teaching aspect.
@guitar2adam thanks, man. im just really stubborn and impatient. when I want to learn something I want to learn it fast. ahhhh!! thanks for the advice and enlightening me of your journey in learning…I actually was taught guitar in 2nd grade and could have continued but it became a chore to me when I was learning from the nuns in school so needless to say i wasnt very enthused to continue to learn. I wish i had but oh well, its all good.
@JnetSpeach hey buddy. no worries. i’ve had my moments where i’ve blanked in the middle of my own original music…which is even more embarrassing than forgetting a cover.
don’t think of taking lessons as “caving in”. i took a half hour lesson once a week from 5th-12th grade…and an hour lesson once a week during 4 years of college. of course they were all classical lessons. but lessons are always valuable as a guide. but in reality you do just have to be patient, and practice. hang in there
@guitar2adam ahhhh, i have my good days and i have my bad days. so i thought i had some confidence and i had guests over and i was going to play a riff i learned but then i forgot the strumming and so i backed out and chickened out. LOL. no bueno.
sigh…how long did it take you to learn. i am so impatient. im almost going to cave in and try and get some paid lessons. are you self taught? any advice for a beginner?
@JnetSpeach you sound just as excited as I was when I was first learning how to play uke haha! this is the basic reggae strumming pattern…so this pattern will work for practically any song with a reggae beat
thanks to you i am barely getting my strumming down and it feels awesome! I know i have A LOT of practice to do but its starting to sound somewhat decent. so is this the basic strumming of most songs for the uke? or is this a particular one for this type of song? man, so much to learn! I love my UKE!!!!
@PikaPalCorina when you’re playing music there’s nothing that you “have” to do. there are only decisions you make about what you personally think makes the music sound good
you don’t have to palm mute with your right hand, but in my opinion it makes it sound more reggae-ish and percussive.

@peaceofcrystal great to hear! haha
hahaha I loved the encouraging comments during your water break….I was like “how does he know I’m totally owning this strumming pattern??”
@guitar2adam I red all comments, not only one is funny and sincere an mine! We should marry! Ahahahah
haha I love this tutorial!
could u play the whole song
and it would be real nice if u would sing along while u r playing
@guitar2adam
Oh okay..
But the sound in my uke is so different from yours
I just got it.. I got no idea how to put it in tune =/

sorry, that was kinda philosophical
@guitar2adam
Yep I got the hang of that
What I mean was I don’t hafta do that slamming mute thingy in my right?
Sorry I’m new in the uke =/
@lapromessadellamusic haha, not married yet
@PikaPalCorina you don’t need long nails to fingerpick. and you can also mute the strings by just lifting up slightly with your left hand
Do I hafta do that palm mute in my right hand?
Coz my mom gets angry when I coz long nails
So I use a pick and the pick falls in the hole..
So yeah..?
Are u married..? No I’m just joke, good job!
God bless
bye
‘do yhu think yhu can do another vid?
but tiz tyme singing along?

dude, thanks a lot for takin the time to do these vids ! great help
thank you for the strumming video!!! best vid!!
@jackassstars you don’t have to palm mute. just make sure you accent the right strums and it will still sound fine
